As someone who is struggling to find a way to put a band together and keep it going, I’m both (mostly) inspired and (kinda) dispirited by this. You’re so lucky (and I’m aware how much work goes into that kind of “luck”).
I understand. I know that it’s my good fortune to have all these musician relationships to be able to pull this off, and there’s no shortcut. But I am a hobbyist. I usually lose money at this stage, and I can’t (or rather won’t) pull in favors from all the brilliant marketing folks I know because I don’t want to muddy the waters of relationships that serve my clients. So there’s a ceiling to what I’m doing that is pretty low. We all do what we can, and we all have access to resources to build something with our art. My ambitions are lofty, but mostly it’s about breaking even and building a consistent audience. If your music is thoughtfully made and compelling, you can do this too. It’s a long game.
